Well, this weekend was quite exciting, even by my standards. I’ll just kind of run down the days, as I think that would be easier.
Friday: Mom worked with me a lot today on learning some new words. Since I’m still a toddler, and speaking is not really my thing, being a boy, and only child, I like gesturing better. Since I like gesturing, mom decided to teach me some more sign language. I already know milk and food/bite, but today I learned how to sign daddy and bread. I love bread and rolls, so that’s a good sign for me to know. I was even able to surprise daddy when I signed and said “dada” when he came home. He was pretty excited by that!
Saturday: I practiced signing some more and am getting pretty good at the words I know. Mom is trying to teach me momma, but that is not going so well. I did start saying “diaper” though, so she is working on me with the sign for that as well. For now, when we head to the bathroom to change me, I say diaper when I’m put on my changing pad. Mom tells me that if I say diaper when I need a changing, then her or dad will change me. I need to learn that one, as it will help when it comes to potty training me in the future.
Sunday: I admit, Sunday I relaxed. I slept in a little late and spent most of the day just playing with blocks and my push toys. Aunt Sarah stopped in during the afternoon and she got to watch me play on my swing. Thankfully, the weather was nice for that type of activity. She brought me some cookies which I thought was nice. I showed her that I could sign Daddy, and she was pretty impressed by that. After she left, I played with my puppies and watched as mom tried to get me to sign momma. I have a feeling I’ll be working on that word this week, and hopefully some more.
