Ordering from the kid’s menu

Posted October 12th, 2007 by Tyler

Today I had to get a shot.  It was a chicken pox vaccination.  Mom and dad were surprised because I did not cry at all during the shot.  Actually, it was not to bad at all.  I did not even really notice what the nurse was doing.  That’s good work if you ask me.

To celebrate my excellent behavior, mom and dad decided to take me out to dinner.  We went to iHop for kid’s night.  I even got to order off the kids menu for the very first time.  Normally, I take some granola bars and some other foods, and might eat a bite or two off mom or dad’s plate, but today, I had my very own meal.  I had the chicken strip basket.  Two large chicken strips and a bunch of fries.  I ate almost all of it!  I even had some of mom’s blueberry crepe.  It was really good.

After supper was over, a clown came over to visit.  He was pretty funny.  He gave me a sticker, a bouncy ball, and he made me a dog out of a balloon.  It was an exciting time.

Not only did I have a great meal out this week, I have had a language explosion as my mom calls it.  I have not only started signing even more signs, such as Tyler, please, shoes, crackers, hat, clothes, book, cereal, and sometimes thank you.  I have even started putting words together to form simple sentances.  Tonight, I asked for “drink please” and “food please”.  I’m becoming quite the linguist.  In addition to my ever growing sign skills, I have begun to speak a little bit.  I am currently speaking cookie, dadda, momma, dog, all gone, what’s that, want that, night night, and diaper.

    hi tyler,
glad you were a big boy for your shot. your daddy was like that too. isn’t i-hop just wonderful. we went there when grampa was at the doctor’s in omaha. the first time we went we got banana stuffed french toast, with the rest of a breakfast. aftert grampa got out of the drs the next day, your aunts had the breakfast with the cherry stuffed crepes. but as normal they didn’t share. i am glad you are learning your signs, and sarting to speak. it is such a wonderful world out there with so much to see, learn and do. take care and give our love to mom and dad.

Well, I don’t like those shots. I know I was a good boy there, but afterwards, it was pretty bad. I had no appetite this weekend, and did not really want to do anything. That could have also been caused by the bad weather, but who knows for sure.

I’m glad I’m learning my Signs and starting to speak as well. In my latest post, you can watch me sign, and if you listen closely, you can hear me say cookie and night-night. I’m doing pretty good if you ask me.

I’ll be sure to give mom and dad extra hugs as well. Tell Grandpa hi for me as well!
