What a busy weekend! I loved getting to see a lot of family for the Easter holiday, but I have to say, I’m glad to be back home. Friday afternoon, we took off towards family. We normally stay with Grandma Shelley, as she is central to all of the family.
On Saturday, we had lunch with Great Grandma Bernice, then headed off to see Grandpa and Great Grandma Catherine. Unfortunately, Great Grandma was not feeling well, so we headed off to the park for an egg hunt sponsored by the fire department. It was a lot of fun, as they had a whole section just for us toddlers! I even found the “special egg” and got a prize. They only had one special egg, and I found it. I got a sheep shaped “see-n-say” for finding it. I also got a decent amount of candy.
After the egg hunting, we headed out to Grandpa Tom’s to have supper. I played with toys, while dad did some computer repair work. Mom lucked out by being able to sit back and relax. After that, we headed home, and I got to play with Aunt Sarah until time for bed.
The next morning, we got up a little early, as we were heading to visit Dad’s family. It was a short trip, but I got to see Grandma and Grandpa, as well as all my aunt’s and uncle. It was a blast! I have a cousin a few years older than me, and he helped me play with sidewalk chalk. I’ve never used it before, but it was a lot of fun. I liked the colors, and the fact that I could draw and not get in trouble!
They do a really fun easter egg hunt, and I got a lot of really good stuff, not to mention some toys. Mom even opened up one of them, a ball and bat, and I’ve been playing with that all day. Dad finally had to put it up because it’s getting late and he says I need to get to bed.
After visiting dad’s family, we headed back to visit Great Grandma Catherine. There were a lot of people there, and she was having an egg hunt as well. The third one in two days! I got some more candy to share with mom and dad, so I was happy.
When that was done, we took off to visit Great Grandpa Orvis. He likes to play ball with me, so I always have a good time visiting him. From there, we picked up the dogs and headed home. It was a very long weekend, and I’m going to sleep most of tomorrow, but it was fun, and I can’t wait until next year.
